Chapter member Miriam Armstrong gave a talk to members of the cognitive and social psychology divisions at Texas Tech. Approximately 20 graduate students and faculty were in attendance. The talk was titled, "Opportunities to Prepare for Non-Academic Jobs" and Miriam talked about ways that students interested in HF/E could gain marketable skills while in grad school such as by joining a chapter of HFES and attending HFES conferences. The talk included a fruitful discussion about barriers that have prevented cognitive and social students from taking part in HFES and similar opportunities in the past.
