One member of our HFES student chapter, Miriam Armstrong, attended and presented at the 2017 Robotics: Science and Systems conference held last week in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Armstrong received a travel award to attend the third Women in Robotics Workshop at R:SS, and during the workshop presented a poster titled "Robots are Dehumanized on the Mechanistic (Human Nature) Dimension." Armstrong is a PhD candidate in the Texas Tech Human Factors Psychology program and is the HFES chapter president.
Congratulations to chapter member Brittany Neilson for recieving the NASA/Texas Space Grant Consortum Fellowship for the 2017-2018 academic year. Neilson is a PhD candidate in the Human Factors Psychology program. This is her third time being awarded this fellowship.
